// what is BPM?

BPM (Beats Per Minute) is the tempo of a track — how many beats occur per minute. It determines energy and feel: Hip-hop sits around 85–100 BPM, Trap at 65–80 (half-time), Pop at 100–130, EDM from 120–160+.

Knowing your BPM matters for sync licensing, DJ mixing and recording in a DAW to an existing beat without drifting tempo.

// what is musical key?

The key is the tonal centre — the root note and mode (major or minor) that everything resolves around. Major keys sound bright and uplifting; minor keys feel darker and emotional.

The Camelot Wheel maps every key by harmonic compatibility — adjacent numbers blend without clashing, making it essential for producers and DJs combining multiple tracks.
